Getting Answers To Prayer
Picture
"Call unto Me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not."   Jeremiah 33:3

Prayer is communication with God. God not only hears prayer, but He also answers prayer. The disciples recognized and saw the results of prayer in the life of Jesus. Therefore, one of them said, "Lord, teach us to pray."  Luke 11:1

Throughout the Bible and even today, many are receiving mighty answers to prayer. God delights in the prayers of His people. You too can receive mighty answers to prayer.

If your prayers are not being answered, there must be a hindrance somewhere. Many things can hinder prayer. The Bible lets us know that a lack of love, courtesy, and misunderstandings in the home are some things that can hinder prayers

(I Peter 3:7).
There are many others as well.

Here is a list of other things that must be in place in our lives if we are to receive answers to prayer.

1. There must be reverence for God.

"Our Father which art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name."   Matthew 6:9

2.  There must be reverence for the Bible.

"He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be an abomination."
Proverbs  28:9

3. There must be reverence for Jesus Christ.

"And whatsoever ye shall ask in My Name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son."   John 14:13

4. All known sin must be confessed to God and forsaken.

"He that covereth his sin shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy."  Proverbs 28:13

5. You must come to God in faith believing.

"But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believethat He is, and that He is a REWARDER of them that DILIGENTLY seek Him."  Hebrews 11:6

6. You must submit your will to the will of the Father, asking that His perfect will be done in the matter requested.

"Ye ask, and receive not because ye ask AMISS."  Amiss means out of proper order; or in an improper way.   James  4:3

7.  After prayer, begin to worship, praise, and thank God in advance for hearing and answering your prayer.

"Be careful for nothing (don't worry about anything); but in everything by prayer and supplication with THANKSGIVING let your requests be made known unto God."  Philippians 4:6

Pointers also to remember: There are three answers to prayer: Yes!  No!  Wait!

In the waiting phase, if your faith gets weak, it's OK to ask God for HELP.

"The Apostles said, Lord, increase our faith."   Luke 17:5

The father of the demon possessed child cried out, "Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief."   Mark 9:24

Even if things seem to get worse, continue to wait and believe God. God will not disappoint the trusting soul. He will answer. He will come through for you, even if it comes through a last minute deliverance.

Hang on in faith (cast not away your confidence). You could be only moments from your MIRACLE.

♦ Never stop thanking and praising God.
♦ Never stop looking, hoping, and expecting.
♦ Never stop counting those things which be not, as though they were.

Faith believes; Hope anticipates; Patience quietly waits; Then God brings it to pass!

The Lord loves us. The Cross of Calvary has already proved that. Jesus is well acquainted with grief, sorrow, loneliness, and rejection. He knows, cares, and understands. Having purchased us with His precious blood, we (Saved, Born-Again ones) are the apple of His eye. The Lord always has our best interest at heart.

Therefore, the best answers to prayer are when we leave the choices up to God. He has the big picture (past, present, and future) for each of our lives. He knows the way through the wilderness of this ole world, all we have to do is follow Him faithfully. Stay close to Him, even in times and through things that you don't understand. He has the power to work all things out together for your good and His glory.

Remember: "The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord, but the prayer of the upright is His delight."  Proverbs 15:8

Go over these simple steps. Meditate on them. If any one of them are missing, it can seriously affect and hinder the answer to your prayers.

May God richly bless you as you seek His face and draw closer to Him!

We will be glad to hear your testimonies of answered prayer. We would love to rejoice with you!
